Variety abounds in MacDonald’s six original pieces on the CD, plus his fresh takes on pieces by Bob Berg, Victor Feldman and Dizzy Gillespie. MacDonald’s compositions for a 17-piece jazz ensemble are featured on his latest disc, “Re:Visions” (Death Defying Records), a showcase for the depth, diversity and originality of his composing and arranging skills, plus his well-honed craft at the keyboard.
